House Extension & REFURBISHMENT,
CLONTARF, DUBLIN 3.
A mid-century building which had been converted to a poor-quality dwelling some time afterwards, bookending a terrace of Protected Structures.
The irregular geometry of the existing building was set out with reference to the adjacent terrace. The existing building is retained, re-modelled and a second storey added as a singular volume punctured to the front by a terrace, partially overhung by the new volume, affording views towards Dublin Port.
Full planning permission for this project was secured in 2016 and the project completed in 2018.
This project featured in Issue 4 of House + Design Magazine (2019).
