HOUSE ON MOAT LANE

NEW BUILD CLONTARF

Tucked away on a historic lane in Clontarf, this mews house sits beside an 1840s brick wall — once the boundary of a formal walled garden and later part of Corinthian’s Football Ground.

Built in the garden of our client’s family home, the house holds deep personal meaning and is deliberately modest — hidden from public view and nestled into its surroundings.

Externally the upper level of the house is wrapped in a light grey profiled metal cladding, drawing inspiration from adjacent car garages. Its muted tone allows the house to subtly dissolve into Dublin’s often overcast skies, reinforcing its quiet presence on the lane.

The project featured in the Irish Architecture Foundation’s 2025 Open House Dublin event.

Client Testimonial:

“I was a client of Brennan Furlong for a new bespoke house build and was very happy with their service. I utilised their services as they had previously done a small project for a family members house and they were very pleased with the project. My overall experience was very positive from the initial design stage through to sign off at completion of the project. Throughout the process I was listened to and any issues that arose along the way were dealt with promptly. Brennan Furlong were efficient, helpful and professional. I felt I was in good hands working alongside them and I would highly recommend them”.
