STRAND ROAD

HOUSE EXTENSION & RENOVATION,
SUTTON, DUBLIN 13.

A contemporary home created behind a retained 18th century stone façade. The east-west orientation and long, narrow, irregularly-shaped site suggested a snaking plan form which terminates in a garden room and incorporates two courtyards and an open front-to-back kitchen & living space, overlooked by a glazed gallery serving the 1st floor bedrooms. Salvaged brick & stone from the original structure is re-used to connect the new building to the history of its site.

This project was selected for exhibition in the
2018 RIAI Awards.

This project was selected by the Irish Architecture Foundation for inclusion in the annual Open House Dublin Event 2017.
